Meet Our Board Members!

Diane Field President –Diane is currently serving as MWGT’s president, after four years as the group’s treasurer.  Recently she served on the MidCoast Hospital board and has been on MCH Auxiliary board since 2017.  Diane also served on the University of New England’s Board of Trustees for 12 years and remains active in various UNE committees.  

Diane graduated from UNE and had a career in banking and finance.  As a resident of Topsham, she believes the grass root efforts to support our communities is vital.

Linda Stephenson–Member at Large– happily returned to the Midcoast area after a career in Human Resources in  Chicago, NJ, Boston, and Denver. Linda spent 15 years in Chicago working at Bank of America.  She led International Credit Operations and Commercial Banking Operations before a promotion  to VP, Human Resources.

Linda studied Art History and is a graduate of Fairfield University in Fairfield CT and has a  Masters in Management from National Louis University in Evanston, IL. She currently serves as a Trustee with Maine State Music Theatre and enjoys  volunteer activities with the Brunswick Topsham Land Trust and Midcoast Youth Center.

Nancy Kurtz Chair of the Grants Committee-A resident of Topsham, Nancy serves as Grants Committee Chair and member of the Executive Board of MWGT. As an attorney in Boston, Massachusetts she practiced in the areas of healthcare organization and environmental regulation. After retirement, she worked part time in executive search. She was a member of the Boston Symphony’s Tanglewood Festival Chorus for 27 years. Moving to Maine in 2020 to be near siblings and her Harpswell cottage ( which she hopes her 3 adult children will visit often), her volunteer activities include choral singing, facilitation of discussion groups in the Sacred Ground program which fosters dialogue about race and racism in the US over its history,  and various other activities at the UU Church of Brunswick. She enjoys time at her summer cottage on Potts Point in Harpswell near her family’s cottage built in 1888.

Patricia Gribben–Treasurer lives in Topsham. As Treasurer she records income and expenses and reports to the Board regarding funding for annual grant awards. A native Kansas she fell in love with New England when she moved to the Boston area in 1973. After seven years as a special education teacher she relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area to begin a 35-year career in financial services working in trust and investment management, corporate retirement plan administration, and mutual fund management. After retirement she returned to explore more of New England and the Northeast. Other volunteer time is spent at Mid Coast Hospital and as a docent at the Maine Maritime Museum.

Jane Fenderson Cabot–President Emeritus- of Harpswell served for four years as White House Director of Scheduling for First Lady Rosalynn Carter.  In that role she travelled extensively, helping to arrange official visits around the world for the President and Mrs. Carter.  Prior to that, she was a Legislative Assistant to Senator Edmund S. Muskie of Maine and a professional staff member of the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Intergovernmental Relations, which he chaired.  

As Executive Vice President of M Booth & Associates, a public relations firm in New York City, Cabot helped develop public issues campaigns for some of the nation’s largest philanthropies and educational institutions.  She is a past President of the Maine Women’s Giving Tree and a member of the Board of Visitors of the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine.  A native of Saco, Jane Cabot is a magna cum laude graduate of Mount Holyoke College.

Amy Saxton Chair of Social Media serves as the co-vice president and leads the communications committee. She has also been a grant reviewer. Amy owns her own real estate agency and gives her time to Ararat TEAN and Harpswell Aging at Home.

Sue Loebs Chair of Education spent her 40 year career in Education, as a teacher, coach, and counselor. Her passions were Early Childhood Development, Parenting Education, and special Education. She retired to Maine with her husband, a native Mainer, in 2012. She loves playing tennis, golf, pickle ball, and being in and on the water! She plays fiddle in the rock band, Off Their Rockers. She loves being a part of MWGT for its exploration and support of the many non-profits supporting women, children, and families.

Linda Gillespie Chair of Website and Membership committee before retiring Linda worked in the field of early childhood education with a focus on parent and infant development. For over 30 years she worked in the non-profit sector providing resources to any adults that touched a baby. She retired in 2019 and moved to Maine in 2021 to be closer to her family, especially her grandson Luke.
